Boots no.7

I received a sample of Boots no. 7 Advanced serum from Influenster to try. I'm sure this is a fantastic product, however, I have been blessed by aging gracefully so despite being a little more than a month from 34 I don't have any wrinkles to speak of enough to be inspired to buy this. As far as serums go, it didn't have too much of an odor. It wasn't oily and didn't try my skin out either. I put it on for a few days (as much as the sample allowed) and didn't have any noticeable changes, but as I said I might have the tiniest of crows feet (probably from squinting as I forget my sunglasses often) so chances are it might work wonders if you have wrinkles for it to work it's magic on. #getadvanced #contest @influenster @bootsbeautyusa

I think i might be in love

With this amazing eyeliner that I received to test through Influenster. I've used Rimmel products for years, in fact it was the make up I wore when I got married. I am, however, pretty picky when it comes to eyeliner. It might be the only thing I put on when I leave the house, so it has to be great. Being someone who uses it a lot, I was impressed that it glided on so easily, no rubbing it on like a pencil and having to go over it again to make sure it was dark enough. This gave me a perfect dark line the first time and had all day staying power.

Barilla Collezione Pasta

Got another great freebie in the mail to try through Bzzagent. Always love getting something for free, what mom doesn't. Being the great procrastinator that I am, I started hunting for dinner last night and found a jar of alfredo and thought it would be the perfect time to try the Barilla Pasta that I just received (along with the pink peppercorns and their awesome grinder). Tossed some chicken in the skillet with Cajun seasoning (what can I say I like spicy), cooked up the pasta (just 10 minutes to perfect), and tossed it all together with some steamed broccoli (a staple in my house). It was delicious, simple and had the kids asking for more. I've always been a fan of Barilla pasta and this new pasta comes complete with a geography lesson.

On a more personal note

I created this blog, mostly to fulfill the blog requirements for some great product review companies to get more freebies, because who doesn't love free stuff. However, sometimes I just need to vent a little. It's been a crazy few weeks with the holidays and birthdays and finally things are starting to get back to what is considered normal at my house. Then I check my email and I'm reminded that tomorrow the kids go back to school, which means scouts are back next week (there goes Monday and Tuesday night. Also I am reminded that soccer sign ups begin in three weeks, which means in two months there goes another few days and I'm back to Wednesday nights being my only guaranteed free time. Looks like this momma is going to get her freezer stocked before I return to my days of chauffeuring and coaching and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Tea

Got this little sample free in my FrostyVoxBox from Influenster. I'll be honest, I'm not a tea drinker (Unless you count good southern sweet tea). Having just tasted 10 new Teavana Teas at work (yay new tea), the last thing I really wanted to do was sit down with a cup of tea at home. But with this lovely actual winter weather we are experiencing here in Tennessee and having put away the last signs of Christmas in the house a little Candy Cane might keep the season going for another day (along with the dozen hallmark channel Christmas movies in the DVR). This was just what I expected of a minty green tea (kinda like the one we have at work). Now as I said, not really a tea drinker so I won't be hopping in the car to buy more, but I did share the coupon with my dad who does appreciate a good green tea and has been buying Celestial Seasonings brand for many years.
